Meet the Trailcart, the future of offroad adventure for the post peak oil generation. A series of lucky coincidences led Frank Fraune and his invention -- a four wheel drive pedal powered vehicle called the Trailcart -- to the Adventure and Offroad Convention in Bad Kissingen Germany. There, surrounded by gas-guzzling, large footprinted vehicles, two trailcart prototypes drew a curious crowd.

Trailcarts are being manufactured under the auspices of the AS Group which is better known for refurbishing gears and hydraulics and supplying related products, mainly to the paper industry. The Trailcart caught the eye of the bosses at AS Group when it was featured in a local newspaper. AS Group contacted Frank Fraune, and the rest is history.
But take this start-up seriously: the world champion in 24-hour mountainbiking, Christoph Lörcks, is working with Trailcart, bringing knowledge and experience on two-wheelers to the development of the first pedal-powered four wheel drive offroad vehicle.

Trailcart prototypes are currently undergoing intensive testing, including trials at Land Rover's obstacle park in Wülfrath, Germany. Manuel Froncek, responsible for marketing in the budding company, reports that Land Rover has purchased the first production vehicles with the intention of using the Trailcarts for a leg of the Land Rover Adventure Tour 2008 in Malaysia, an event sponsored by Land Rover of Germany. Feedback is resulting in improvements in the Trailcart design. The team is also targetting to keep the vehicle under the 50 kg limit typical for bicycle racks on automobiles.

The Trailcart was enjoyed by Offroad Convention visitors, young and old. Although it is designed for adults, the ergonomic seat was adjusted down to give pre-teens a go at the new adventure machine. The Trailcart has permanent four-wheel drive and can conquer obstables with up to 400mm axle displacement. Approximately 290Nm of torque powers the Trailcart over the terrain. A double-action mechanical hydraulic braking system keeps the Trailcart under control. The bike is built from high-end sportsbike parts, including the Shimano Nexus 8 shifting system.

Seri 2 Djarum Super Real Adventure Offroad 2010

Kejuaraan Djarum Super Real Adventure Offroad 2010 Seri 2 akan digelar di Sirkuit Gedongombo Semanding Tuban tanggal 22-23 Mei 2010.

Pendaftaran sudah dibuka sejak tanggal 10 Mei yang lalu dan akan ditutup tanggal 20 Mei 2010. kecuali kuota sudah terpenuhi, waktu pendaftaran kemungkinan akan ditutup lebih awal.
Bagi yang sudah mengikuti seri sebelumnya di Semarang harus melakukan konfirmasi ulang dan membayar biaya pendaftaran, karena urutan start seri tuban akan menggunakan daftar hasil seri 1. Jika sampai batas akhir waktu pendaftaran, peserta dari seri 1 belum melakukan konfirmasi maka otomatis tim tersebut akan diikutsertakan dalam undian start atau berada di posisi terakhir.
Menurut informasi dari penyelenggara yaitu Genta Auto & Sport, peraturan pemasangan sticker di kendaraan pun dibatasi dengan ketat, jika peserta memasang stiker sponsor selain djarum di body mobil akan dikenakan denda.
Selain itu ukuran dan jumlah nya pun ditentukan oleh penyelenggara, yaitu maksimal  dua buah sticker dengan ukuran 60cm persegi. Pemasangan stiker sponsor diperbolehkan dan tidak dikenakan denda jika sticker tersebut dipasang di kaca depan mobil untuk nama tim yang bersangkutan.
Peserta DSRAO ini harus merupakan tim, dengan maksimum kendaraan 3 unit (setiap unit harus memenuhi standar spesifikasi) dan maksimum awak dalam 1 kendaraan adalah 3 orang yaitu Driver, Navigator dan Crew.
Seperti seri seri kejuaran sebelumnya, kali ini pun diberlakukan minimum requirement kendaraan peserta sebagai berikut :

# Wajib menggunakan kendaraan dengan penggerak 4 (empat) roda atau lebih, berat maksimal kendaraan adalah 2,5 Ton.
# Wajib menggunakan ban khusus Off-road.
# Wajib menggunakan Accu Min. 70 Amp disarankan 2 buah.
# Wajib menggunakan Roll-Bar atau RollCage, minimal 4 titik disarankan 6 titik.
# Wajib menggunakan Safety Belt min. 4 titik.
# Wajib menggunakan Safety Helmet Full Face (Full Cover)
# Wajib menyediakan pemadam kebakaran Min. 2 kg per mobil.
# Wajib menggunakan lampu penerangan minimal sama dengan standart manufacturing.
# Wajib menggunakan Winch / PTO untuk setiap kendaraan, dan berfungsi dengan baik. Dan tetap terpasang selama kegiatan lomba berjalan, tanpa kecuali.
# Wajib membawa peralatan komunikasi minimal 1 SET dari setiap team.
# Diwajibkan membawa obat-obatan / P3K.
# Bagi kendaraan yang tidak memasang pintu kiri dan kanan diwajibkan memasang pengaman tambahan.
# Wajib memasang Cut-Off.
# Wajib membawa Strap / Belt dan peralatan lainnya.
# Untuk kendaraan yang menggunakan atap kanvas atau fiber, wajib memasang Plat/ pelindung (Top  Cover) terutama di atas tempat duduk Driver & Navigator.
# Menyediakan Damper Winch (pemberat tali winch) terbuat dari kain atau bahan sejenis, dengan berat min. 1 kg, dipasang pada ujung kabel (kawat) Winch.
# Menyediakan Sarung tangan Full Cover yang terbuat dari bahan yang kuat dan tebal untuk Driver, Navigator & Crew.
# Wajib Memakai Sepatu (Driver, Navigator & Crew)
# Wajib menyediakan/memasang lampu belakang dan lampu sign untuk Touring malam hari.
# Pemasangan roll bar harus sampai ke bagian Chasis.

Gelar juara umum akan ditentukan di seri terakhir yang rencananya akan digelar tanggal 16-17 Oktober 2010, peserta harus mengikuti minimal 3 Seri Kejurnas Djarum Super Real Adventure Offroad 2010 ini dan wajib mengikuti seri terakhir.

Offroad Adventure Travel

Offroad adventure travel will bring you along the most beautiful landscapesOffroad Adventure Travel has been around a long time. Some call it Expeditions, 4x4, or overland travel. It will bring you to the most remote areas, where you will see amazing landscapes, and may end up sleeping at the locals in distant villages in the countryside. To go offroad, however, you need to have the right equipment, technical knowhow about that equipment, and be prepared for whatever you will find underway.
Ron Douglas is an offroad specialist, gaining experience for a world journey with his family in a 4x4 vehicle. Especially for Adventure Travel Tales and Tips, he wrote this introduction article for offroad adventure travel.

An Introduction to Overlanding

Overlanding, or traveling offroad with a motorized vehicle, dates back to the beginning of car history. The first big overland adventure was the 1908 World Race that was won by American car builder Erwin R. Thomas. His car was named the Thomas Flyer. People have been fascinating with offroad adventure travels ever since.

Getting Started

There are several ways to get started. I would recommend that you buy a 4x4 or motorcycle. Don’t waste your time trying to get a 2wd for these types of adventures; you will end up selling it later and wasting a lot of money in modifications that you can’t get back. If you’re uncertain what kind of vehicle you want to start with, read “Choosing the Right 4x4”. You will have a good understanding of what is right for you after reading that. Also look online and find a local club of offroaders that can help you with some local offroading. This can really give you a good jumpstart into the Offroad Adventure Travel world.

Modifications

I wouldn’t recommend you start doing all sorts of modifications to your vehicle right off. I have seen several people do this. In the long run they either redo a lot of their early mods or end up with a lot of mods they don’t need. Take your stock vehicle out and see what it does. As your experience offroad increases, you will then find the needs that will make you vehicle go further. You can then start adding BASIC trip equipment. The more you take trips, the faster you will discover what you need.

Your own Offroad Adventure

There are more and more people going on their own Offroad Adventure Travels. Traveling anywhere from Africa to the Arctic Circle. Travel over glaciers in Iceland, or mud holes deep in the jungle of South America. Find Ghost towns in Colorado or explore quiet beaches in Baja. It’s all out there! Getting there can be some of the most amazing memories of the trip. You can learn to push a vehicle beyond its normal capabilities and go further and stay longer! The 4wd community, in general, is amazing and members seem to be always willing to help. One of the best Expedition Forums, Expedition Portal, is growing and the members there are great! Eco Factor: Concept vehicle run on hybrid propulsion system and four electric engines. Students from FH Joanneum University came out with six design concepts in collaboration with KTM. One of these concepts, the KTM AX, a four-wheel concept buggy, is worth consideration for eco-conscious geeks who like adventure as well. The concept was designed by Markus Klung and Lucas Fuchs. It’s a radical off-road vehicle that is powered by hybrid propulsion in combination with four individually steerable electric engines. The vehicle is perfect for adventure-loving people. A high ground clearance, reinforced tires and a suspensions size generously provide fine off-road capabilities. Individual components are integrated into a lightweight space frame and a built-in rollover ensures the safety aspect for two individuals. After going through the concept it’s not hard to guess that the inspiration behind the concept is the KTM-X Bow.

We set on our way, departing from the comfortable paved roads to the off road tracks we got so used to. We rode on mild off road tracks for about 40 kilometers, all cars coped with the terrain beautifully. Everybody enjoyed the ride, some got stuck, some scratched their rides and some just tested the cars. At some point, a voice on the CB Radio said “ This is a first. The convoy is spread over 7 kilometers!”

We managed to get to the village where the mayor and officials were expecting us. We unloaded all the supplies, bread, sausages, detergent, soap, shampoo, cereals and everything that one needs for the house under the careful eyes of the team's mascot, Zara the Berna Sheppard dog. The news spread fast, and everybody helped with the unloading, sorting, packing and sending off the supplies.

Each convoy carried roughly 25 bags, destined to be handed to one single person. The bags contained a unit of everything we carried. Mainly, the people that received the goods were old people. Some forgotten by their families, some poor, some sick, but all unreachable to the world around.

Perhaps one of the most unique attributes of the off road spirit is that of helping each other, on and off the tracks, whether it's giving a sprocket or a knob to another contestant or people around us who have been disadvantaged, who live in remote areas of the country and have no access to food, water or phone lines. Just the kind of people we could make a better Christmas for. So with these thoughts in mind, the Off Road Adventure Romania Team sets off every year before Christmas to a designated area where we give away food, water and presents for the children.

This year, 46 off road cars and SUV’s parked outside one of the biggest shopping centers in Bucharest to get loaded. Some of the people who attended for the first time were rather surprised to see all the cars gathered under one roof (literally one roof, the roof of the parking lot). If there was a car you could think of, it was almost certainly there, from Mercedes SUVs and Land Rover Freelanders to Highly modified contest cars and the surprise of the day, a Hummer H1.

We loaded the cars and set on the way. The night before, some were rather worried that the ice, mud and snow would jeopardize the action. Some of the cars had nothing more than the factory specs and somebody behind the wheel.

HELM SEPEDA, RAFTING, BMX




MODIFIKASI HELM SEPEDA, RAFTING, BMX

Kali ini aku tidak menampilkan modifikasi mobil, tapi modifikasi helm untuk bersepeda. 
Awalnya aku tidak suka bersepeda memakai helm, tapi bila mengikuti even-even sepeda dianjurkan memakai helm, tepaksa aku beli helm. 
Tapi helm apa ya yang cocok untuk aku? Karena aku tak suka pakai helm yang untuk pembalap atau sepeda MTB, karena terlalu resmi (aku tak suka yang resmi-resmi).
Maka pilihan jatuh pada helm sepeda BMX atau helm Rafting, tapi setelah aku pakai rasanya kok silau ya. Bagaimana biar tidak silau ?
Akhirnya aku potongkan ujungnya helm model lama yang sudah tidak terpakai (karena beli di toko tidak ada) dan aku baut kiri-kanan. Ternyata sippp, sudah tidak silau, lagi pula helmku beda dengan yang lain.
Puasssssssss. Yang mau mencoba silakan.........................

KPPN BOJONEGORO KE BALI

Sudah tiba waktu yang ditunggu-tunggu oleh karyawan KPPN Bojonegoro untuk wisata ke Bali, tepatnya berangkat tanggal 21 April 2011 selepas absen pulang (17.30 wib). Menggunakan bus Dali Mas Mercedez Bens tahun 2010 yang nyaman dan dilengkapi fasilitas karaoke yang sempurna. Sehingga teman-teman dalam perjalanan asyik berkaraoke, tak terkecuali kepala kantor sekalian.

Ini adalah rekreasi KPPN Bojonegoro yang kesekian kali sejak di pimpin Pak Dony, Ratoyo, Hari, D703MY (de Jumi). Beruntung tentunya, kepala-kepala KPPN Bojonegoro banyak yang senang berbagi kegembiraan dengan karyawannya. Terima kasih semuanya. OK kembali ke topic.

Tiba di pelabuhan Ketapang Banyuwangi tanggal 22 April 2011 sekitar pukul 04.00 wib dan shalat subuh di masjid sekitar pelabuhan. Karena pas hari libur nasional, membuat pelabuhan penyeberangan padat dan baru bisa menyeberang pukul 08.00 wib (antri empat jam). Sehingga makan pagi molor pada pukul 11.50 wit (menjadi makan siang).

Yang membuat penulis risau adalah kewajiban melaksanakan shalat Jum’at, takut tidak menemukan masjid (jangan sampai tidak shalat Jum’at dan aku berdoa terus semoga ketemu masjid). Beberapa melewati masjid sudah selesai Jum’atan, terus saja pak sopir mungkin masih ada masjid yang belum selesai (kataku). Akhirnya menemukan masjid juga, selesai ambil wudhu khutbah selesai, Alhamdulillah masih bisa shalat Jum’at. Terima kasih ya Allah.

Di Bali

Penulis disini tidak menceritakan tempat-tempat wisata di Bali, sudah banyak yang tahu tentunya. Hanya cerita perjalanannya saja, di pelabuhan penyeberangan terhambat empat jam, dan sampai di Tanjung Benoa sudah sore sehingga tidak bisa menikmati obyeknya. Seharusnya Biro Perjalanan (MPW Tour) singgah di Tanah Lot dulu bukan ke Tanjung Benoa, baru ke obyek-obyek lainnya yang waktunya bisa cocok. Juga yang ke Bedugul sudah malam dan gelap gulita. Catatan untuk MPW Tour ya.

Tapi secara umum teman-teman sudah puas karena sudah selesai belanja di Cening Bagus dan Joger (konon banyak yang mendapat titipan belanja) sebagai tanda kalau sudah dari Bali. Ya memang di tempat belanja tidak bisa mengontrol waktu, termasuk antri di kasir yang lama.

Tiba kembali di Bojonegoro tanggal 24 April 2011 sekitar pukul 09.30 wib.

ADVENTURE BIKE BOJONEGORO (PELAKSANAAN)


PELAKSANAAN 27 MARET 2011
Aku sebenarnya antara ikut dan tidak dalam mengikuti Adventure Bike ini. Karena ada beberapa hal yang harus aku selesaikan tanggal 27/03/2011, termasuk ada dua undangan resepsi pernikahan. Tapi malam ahad aku putuskan untuk berangkat, meski belum mengantongi tiket.
Aku berangkat hari ahad pukul 03.45 menuju lokasi (Waduk Pacal Temayang Bojonegoro) yang berjarak sekitar 35 km dari rumah.
Sampai di lokasi langsung menemui panitia (Elang EO) untuk beli tiket, ternyata sudah tidak ada cadangan. Karena semua sepeda pakai nomor, aku tidak berani nyusup, nanti dicap peserta gelap (takut diusir didalam perjalanan). Wah…. Gimana ya caranya untuk mendapatkan nomor ? (Pikirku)
Akhirnya aku punya ide (mungkin klub sepeda ada yang anggotanya batal ikut) , aku langsung mendatangi truk pngangkut sepeda dan bertanya pada peserta yang di sekitranya. Dan tenyata ada anggotanya yang batal ikut dan nomornya (362) diberikan aku. Terima kasih klub sepeda "99 Pohwates" Bojonegoro (Pak Parlan, pak Ahmad dkk), yang telah menolong aku.

DORONG SEPEDA LIMA JAM
Track Adventure Bike Bojonegoro ternyata sangat berat, karena malam sebelum pelaksanaan hujan di lokasi. Sehingga membuat track menjadi licin dan berlumpur dan yang bisa dinaiki sepeda dengan mulus hanya 25% dari total track. Bayangkan, Start pukul 06.30 wib dan tiba di finish 15.00 wib.
Aku sangat puas dengan track seperti itu, masuk hutan dan banyak tanjakan dan turunan berlumpur yang menantang membuat sepeda ngosel-ngosel. Sepertinya diadu nyali kita dalam teknik dan kecerdasan mengendarai serta memperlakukan sepeda (agar tidak jatuh dan sepeda tidak rusak). Betul-betul “Petualangan” yang menegangkan.
Sayangnya panitia tidak ada yang berjaga di track tengah hutan dan di lokasi-lokasi berlumpur yang rawan kecelakaan, dan tidak tersedianya air minum. Padahal antara pos I dan Pos II jauh sekali.
Sampai di pos II separo dari jumlah peserta sudah tidak mampu melanjutkan menuju finish, karena tenaga telah dikuras selama lima jam mendorong sepeda di tengah hutan yang berlumpur.

Kali ini jumlah pegawai KPPN Bojonegoro berkurang satu lagi karena promosi, yaitu mas Arief TS (sebelumnya yang dapat promosi adalah Sukirno ke KPPN Toli Toli).

Mas Arief promosi ke KPPN Waingapu sebagai Kasubbag Umum, dan bertugas mulai 21 Maret 2011.

NOSTALGIA

Mas Arief pegawai angkatan ’82 dan teman akrab saya, sejak saya masuk (1985). Kami saling berkunjung, apalagi waktu itu setiap akan apel ke pacarnya (mbak Tiwik) mas Arief sering titip sepeda motor (Binter Othok-othok, suara khasnya) ke rumah saya. Ingat khan mas ?

Dan terakhir ke rumah orang tua saya di Balen Bojonegoro 27-01-2011 ketika bapak meninggal dunia, mas Arief menyempatkan ta’ziah bersama mbak Tiwik. Terima kasih mas.

Dan saya juga ingat, sering didahului membayar makanan kalau lagi ‘marung’ (di depot, kantin). Rasa sosialnya tinggi, apalagi terhadap orang-orang yang belum mampu, sangat peduli.

Karena persahabatan yang sudah begitu akrab itu, saya merasa kehilangan teman. Tapi tak apalah, sudah ditukar dengan peningkatan kariernya, saya ikut bangga dan bersyukur.

PESAN SMS

Selain membaca Al-Qur’an, jangan lupa mas Arief mendalami buku Manajemen Kepemimpinan, sabar dan memperhatikan anak buah. Pelajari kesehariannya pak Herling (Kanwil Palu), pak Didi (KPPN Pangkalan Bun), bu Jum, bu Pri, bu Rini, pak Pur, pak Hermawan (KPPN Bojonegoro) InsyaAllah nanti aman dan lancar.

Jangan lupa untuk sering mengingatkan teman-teman di KPPN Waingapu , untuk tidak lupa absen.

Karena jauh dari keluarga, untuk menghibur diri tambah dengan kegiatan olah raga sepeda dan fotografi.





TRADISI VERA BOJONEGORO



Tahun 2006 Seksi Vera KPPN Bojonegoro ada sepuluh pegawai. Karena pindah dan promosi, pada bulan Maret 2011 berkurang satu pegawai lagi yaitu mas Arief. Jadi sekarang tinggal lima pegawai.



Apa tradisinya ?

Ya yang pasti diundang makan-makan khusus seksi Vera. Seperti gambar diatas, lagi diundang sama mas Arief di Javanilla Cafe (samping timur KPPN Bojonegoro). Suasana sangat akrab, apalagi mas Arief mengajak anak dan istrinya (mbak Tiwik).



Ini pertanyaanku tanggal 13-02-2009 : Siapa lagi ya kira-kira yang pindah dari seksi Vera promosi ke KPPN lain ? Tenyata jawabannya : Mas Arief. Ok, selamat dan sukses.
